In its present form and through its predecessor company, F.A Tucker - Emera Utility Services has been performing power transmission maintenance and construction work in Atlantic Canada since 1966. EUS is the only contractor in the Maritimes qualified to perform live line work.
In recent years, EUS has invested in off-road fleet, project and construction management, experienced transmission management and field personnel. EUS has also completed increasingly complex, large-scale construction projects for various clients.

Transmission Construction Project History:
NB Power Transmission Build
Dates: Construction Start (October 2006) – Line Energization (October 2007)
EUS worked with NB Power crews to construct a 90km 345kV bundled conductor transmission line on steel structures from Point Lepreau to St. Stephen in New Brunswick.
Maritime Electric Transmission Build
Dates: Construction Start (September 2007) – Line Energization (February 2009)
EUS constructed a 70km 138kV transmission line on wood structures from GDF Suez’s 100MW West Cape Wind Farm in Prince Edward Island to the Summerside substation.
Digby Transmission Build
Dates: Construction Start (August 2010) – Line Energization (October 2010)
EUS constructed a 17km 69kV transmission line from Nova Scotia Power’s 30MW Digby Wind Farm in Nova Scotia to the Conway Substation. The line crossed several wetland areas and required the use of composite poles, matting and erosion control in these areas.
Tremont Transmission Build
Dates: Construction Start (September 2010) – Line Energization (January 2011)
EUS constructed a 42km 138kV transmission line on H-frame wood structures from Tremont to Canaan Road in Nova Scotia.
