Christopher G. Huskilson

President and CEO, Emera Inc., Halifax, Nova Scotia

Chris began his career with Nova Scotia Power in 1980. He was made Chief Operating Officer of Emera and Nova Scotia Power in July 2003 and President and Chief Executive Officer of Emera in 2004.

Chris is a member of the Association of Professional Engineers of Nova Scotia. He is Chair of the Canadian Electricity Association, and serves on many for-profit and not-for-profit Boards of Directors. He is Past-Chair of the Greater Halifax Partnership and Past-Chair of the Energy Council of Canada.

Chris holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering and a Master of Science in Engineering from the University of New Brunswick.

Nancy Tower, FCA

Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, Emera Inc., Halifax, Nova Scotia

Nancy was appointed Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer in July 2010, after serving as Chief Financial Officer of Emera since 2005. Prior to this, Nancy held senior positions at Nova Scotia Power in corporate finance and operations, including Controller and Vice President of Customer Operations. Prior to joining Emera, Nancy worked with Grant Thornton, A.I. Tower, and Ernst & Young. Throughout her career, Nancy has consistently demonstrated strong leadership skills and solid financial acumen.

Nancy is a leader in her community, currently serving on the Board of Directors of Nova Scotia Business Inc., as well as, the Advisory Council of the Dalhousie University Corporate Residency MBA Program. She is a past member of the Board of Trustees of the QEII Foundation, and the Board of Directors of CAA Atlantic. Nancy is also the former Chair of the Nova Scotia Institute of Chartered Accountants.

Nancy is a graduate of Dalhousie University.

Stephen Aftanas

Stephen became the Corporate Secretary for Emera Inc. and Nova Scotia Power Inc. in 2008. Previously Stephen held the position of Associate Corporate Secretary and prior to that, served as Associate General Counsel for Nova Scotia Power and Senior Solicitor, Emera.

Before joining Emera in 2002, Stephen practiced corporate and commercial law as a partner with a Halifax law firm. He practiced law in Winnipeg for several years prior to moving to Halifax. An active member of the community, Stephen is Past Chair of the Board of Governors of the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia.
